República wins at Sydney Business Awards

Pioneer Fairtrade Coffee Licensee República® has taken out the inaugural award for best Sydney Fair Trade business at this year’s City of Sydney Business Awards.

Jacqueline Arias started República® five years ago with the dream of doing something good and now República® coffee is available in supermarkets across Australia and all the way to LA on V Australia airlines.

Jacqueline said República® was thrilled to be voted the best Fair Trade business in Sydney.

“The future is very bright for our customers, for our farmers, for our drinkers,” Jacqueline said.

The Sydney Business Awards nominees go through public voting and then judging by a panel of reputable leaders.

The Fair Trade category was new for 2009 as Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP steers Sydney City and its businesses towards a more sustainable future.
